18 June 2007
Friends,
By now you know that I have moved to the west Coast, and no longer serve as BDS rep. I believe my promise was to leave this site up for one additional year after leaving Raleigh, just in case the community found someone who wanted to continue it.
Currently, there are about 30 or more visitors per day to the site, mostly looking for information on the importance of literature. So...it seems it is still a means of service for some browsers. With that in mind, I will continue it until I either change it to read something like COBBi (for Carlsbad Online Bahai Booksource International, if my new community requires such a service, or until the LSA of Raleign issues further instruction.
Nothing new on the site since 2006.
Til next time,
Lo

Tabernacle of Unity, The Author: Baha'u'llah Product Code: TUH Pages: 94 Binding Information: Hardcover Availability: Out of stock. Backorder policy. Not Yet Published Price: $9.00
Now taking advanced orders, for shipment in late June!
This small book contains Bahá'u'lláh's Tablet to Mánikchi Sáhib, a prominent Zoroastrian, and a companion Tablet addressed to Mirzá Abu'l-Fadl, the secretary to Mánikchi Sáhib at that time. These, together with three shorter, inspirational Tablets, offer a glimpse of Bahá'u'lláh's relationship with the followers of a religion that had arisen, many centuries before, in the same land that witnessed the birth of His own Faith.

April 2006
If it's April, that means the 19 day Fast has come and gone (2-20 March) and now we are in a month filled with many activities and events and even a couple of festive Holy Days.
The Annual Election will be held on the 20th, 7:30 at the Baha'i Center, and the First Day of Ridvan Holy Day Celebration (21 April ) will be held at Lake Crabtree County Park at 2:00 p.m.. Feasts will be held on the 8th and the 27th of this month at the usual time and place. The 9th Day of Ridvan, another Holy Day Celebration, will be held at Pullen Park at 4:00 p.m.
In early May we conclude our Holy Day celebrations on the 2nd, with the 12th Day of Ridvan gathering to be held at Rose Garden, beginning at 12 noon.
We also eagerly anticipate a visit from Dr. William Roberts, a member of the National Spiritual Assembly, on 6th May.
Have you taken the time to reflect on what gifts and sacrifices you will lay at the foot stool of the Beloved in the new year?

" .... Shoghi Effendi hopes that you will exert all your effort to deepen your knowledge of the literature of the movement, until you become fully acquainted with its spirit and tenets. Unless you do obtain such a firm hold you will never be able to teach others and render real service to the promulgation of the Faith. Of special importance is the Book of the Íqán which explains the attitude of the Cause towards the prophets of God and their mission in the history of society. Besides this there is Some Answered Questions of the Master and the 'Dawn-Breakers' of Nabil. Every Bahá'í should master these books and be able to explain their contents to others. Besides their importance, they are interesting and most absorbing."
(From a letter written on behalf of Shoghi Effendi to an individual believer, February 9, 1932)
